Chapter 1548 - 309: Looks Familiar!

The in-laws coming back is a big deal.Early in the morning, Master Han and his wife took Old Ge’s scooter with Little Han Han and hurried to Bailong Port, one helping tidy up the house and the other preparing lunch.

Old Han arrived at Bailong Port at twelve noon. Although the passenger ferry was suspended, the small 001 still needed to dock. The dunship at the passenger terminal was still there, and Old Han and his wife, along with Han Shen and his wife, secured the boat before going ashore for lunch.

After a long separation, the reunion was filled with joy; the two old men drank a bottle and a half of wine at lunch.

Han Shen didn’t drink; not because he couldn’t or didn’t want to, but because he had a ton of things to do in the afternoon. He needed to move everything from the boat to the shore and then sail the boat to Boss Wu’s shipyard for rust removal and painting. After being out for so long, he missed his children and planned to return to his home in Lingbei in the evening to reunite with his in-laws and children.

After lunch, Old Han and his wife took the car arranged by Boss Wu, bringing along a few changes of clothes, and headed to the city with Master Han and Director Xiang.

At first, they didn’t plan to come, since living in the city wasn’t as comfortable as Bailong Port, but Director Xiang had arranged health check-ups for them long ago, and they hadn’t seen their son for a long time. After much consideration, they decided to come.

Dinner was arranged at "Chuanfu Old Chen," and they arrived before dark.

They weren’t rushing to eat but wanted to see the relatives from Xichuan and check out the storefront Ai Tong found for his brother-in-law.

The storefront wasn’t large, just a small area, located in a narrow alley.

Director Xiang, holding Little Han Han, looked around inside and outside, then walked out and asked, "Ai Tong, can this storefront really work?"

"My brother-in-law is opening a snack shop, not a big restaurant," replied Xiang Aidong, glancing back inside with an embarrassed look, "With a bit of squeezing, six small tables can fit here; since the space is adequate, having a larger space would mean higher rent."

"How much is the rent for these two rooms per month?"

"800."

Xianging, who had never run a business, was worried that her niece’s husband might lose money, so she asked persistently, "If the shop opens here, can you earn enough to cover rent and wages for two people?"

"Should be able to, definitely can!" Before Xiang Aidong could respond, Red Plum enthusiastically said, "Aunt, several big malls are nearby, selling many phones. As long as there are many people, business won’t be bad. If you don’t believe it, just wait and see the noodle shop at the alley entrance; they’re too busy to handle all their business."

Xianging still wasn’t reassured and asked worriedly, "This is Binjiang, not home. Do people here like to eat hot and sour noodles?"

"Yes, young people love spicy food."

"Really?"

"Really, soon you’ll see. Our shop makes authentic Sichuan cuisine, business is thriving!"

Old Han, having been in the transportation business for many years, felt young people should venture out. What’s the point of working at home earning a fixed salary?

He took the cigarette from Master Han and smiled, saying, "The investment isn’t much, let the kids try first."

"In-law, your idea of a small investment depends on the comparison, not everyone has your courage to change ships when they want."

"No choice; with prices so low and costs so high, if I hadn’t decided to change ships back then, keeping the small boat would make it impossible to operate now."

In water transport, the larger the ship, the lower the transportation cost per ton. Previous experience proved that changing ships was the right decision, otherwise, we couldn’t compete now.

Talking about investment and changing ships, Old Han felt proud.

Originally, the evening meal was hosted by Master Han.

Despite Old Han having loans, he was involved in big business, spending over ten thousand just for oil—not considering a meal. He firmly insisted on covering the bill and emphasized to the boss and boss lady that he must pay.

Relatives coming for meals often pay; this supports the restaurant’s business, making Xiang Aidong and Red Plum proud, and they worked more diligently than usual.

The dishes were ordered, and they sat in the private room chatting while waiting for Xiang Ning.

Xianging looked at Red Plum, who occasionally came in to help serve tea, and commented emotionally, "In-law, these two kids are so thoughtful it’s heartwarming. My mom, sister-in-law, and niece and her husband are coming, right? I planned for my mom to stay at my place and asked San’er to find a place for my sister-in-law and niece, but those two kids already sorted it out themselves."

In-law’s mother is the daughter-in-law’s grandmother; in-law’s sister-in-law is the daughter-in-law’s aunt!

Since they were coming from such a distant place, Old Han felt he should do something and curiously asked, "What place did they find, and where will Grandma stay?"

"Upstairs," Xiang Fan pointed up, smiling wryly, "The two kids rented a two-bedroom set on the upper floor, paid the landlord, and the place is mostly tidied up."

Mrs. Han couldn’t hold back asking, "How much is it per month?"

"There are major malls around, many renting places, so rent is higher than other places, costing 320 a month, excluding utilities."

"Grandma living with your sister-in-law is more comfortable than staying at your house. Han Han attends school in East Sea, and you need to go to East Sea to take Han Han. If she stays with San’er and Ningning, she won’t feel at ease. Moreover, both San’er and Ningning are extremely busy, without time to take care of Grandma."

"Yes, fortunately, Han Han’s winter vacation is coming; once she’s on holiday, she’ll come back to accompany my mom."

"On vacation, Grandma, when is my holiday!" Han Han couldn’t hold back from asking joyfully, momentarily ignoring the toy Grandpa just bought her.

This child is quite different from her parents—just doesn’t enjoy school.

Xianging wasn’t sure what to say when Han Xiangning walked in accompanied by the boss lady and Red Plum.

City leaders should keep a low profile; the boss lady now didn’t call her Mayor Han, but like Red Plum called her sister.

"You guys continue with your work; another table just arrived outside, quickly go attend to the guests."
