Even If I'm Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem

Book 5: Chapter 222: Car

Book 5: Chapter 222: Car

When Luna returned to the park the next morning, Tadashi, the little beggar, had vanished. The area in front of the bench was tidy, and his makeshift castle had disappeared without a trace.

It was as if every trace of the boy’s existence had been erased from the world.

Luna took a seat on the bench. The gentle morning sunlight filtered through the camphor leaves, casting dappled spots of light that illuminated her figure. Dressed in a casual sports outfit, she looked almost ethereal, wrapped in a colorful halo, reminiscent of a goddess in flowing silk.

In her hand, she held a cup of milk tea, sipping it slowly. The strong flavor rushed into her nose, while the intense sweetness nearly numbed her tongue. To Luna, it was hardly a pleasant drink.

Yet, it was the only thing she could manage to swallow. The freshly made soy milk she’d bought from a roadside stall had turned her stomach, and she had promptly vomited it after just one sip.

Fortunately, the weather was clear and sunny.

Luna couldn’t pinpoint why this thought crossed her mind.

She didn’t look for a new hotel the night before because she spotted her wanted poster on a television screen when she walked past an electronics store.

Although there was no real photograph, she felt a twinge of resignation—law enforcers in this world were relentless, and the sketch bore a striking resemblance to her.

She merely found another bench and took a short nap. For someone who had once camped in the border forest to hunt monsters, this was a trivial matter. But as Tadashi had mentioned, nighttime brought an onslaught of so-called buzzing knights—mosquitoes.

While she could easily eliminate all the mosquitoes in the park with a mere wave of her hand, it must have felt like a torment for ordinary people. It was no wonder Tadashi had been reluctant to leave his “sacred tree” the previous night.

After finishing her milk tea, Luna casually tossed the cup, watching it land perfectly into the trash can.

“All right—time to get down to business,” she said, stretching her body. The bench had not offered her a restful sleep.

The novelty of being in this world was slowly fading, and her rather pleasant memories were slowly being replaced by the unpleasant ones. She began to miss her own world—longing for familiar foods, a big bed, and Master Lilith.

“I still don’t know where to start, but it’s better than doing nothing.” Luna got up, stuffing her hands into her pockets, and headed toward the city center. It was the most densely populated area, and she hoped to find something there.

Before leaving, she put on a mask, the oversized sunglasses she had bought earlier, and a sporty cap, disguising herself like a celebrity hiding from the paparazzi.

“Taxi!” She waved to hail one of the local cabs.

“Where do you want to go, beautiful?” The cab driver, an affable older man, struck up a conversation as soon as she got in, his enthusiasm evident. He didn’t bat an eye at her peculiar outfit, seemingly already accustomed to such sights.

“By the way, could you give me your autograph before you get out of the car later? It might be worth a lot! I’d love to show it off to my daughter. She’s always showing me her collection of celebrity autographs and bragging about how rare they are and how much they’re worth if she were to sell them.”

“......”

“Even though you’re doing performance art, wearing long-sleeved sportswear on a hot day must be tough, huh? My old car’s air conditioning isn’t the best, so let me know if you feel an impending heatstroke so I can take you to the hospital.”

“......”

“The best women’s hospital in the east is nearby. I heard they’ve developed some new technology that can tell if a child is biologically yours in just ten seconds! Haha, they’re nuts. What’s the point? How can I not know if the kid isn’t mine?”

Finally feeling irritated, Luna shot the chatty driver an icy glare and softly muttered, “[Slumber].”

“Actually, my wife feels the same way! She says this technology is probably a scam and that I shouldn’t give it any attention in the future...”

The older man trailed off, his voice fading as he dozed off, eventually slumping against the passenger side in a deep sleep.

Luna climbed into the driver’s seat, staring at a car she had never driven before. Memories of driving techniques she had seen online flashed through her mind.

“Push the clutch, press the brake, pull the handbrake, shift into gear, release the clutch, release the brake, and step on the gas...”

The vehicle started moving smoothly.

“Accelerate, press the clutch, shift into gear, grip the steering wheel tightly, accelerate again, press the clutch, shift into gear...”

With each movement becoming more fluid, Luna felt she had full control of this mechanical beast. Without hesitation, she pressed the gas pedal to the floor, pushing the ten-year-old clunker to a jaw-dropping speed of one hundred twenty miles per hour in the bustling city center.

(Note: Driving without a license and speeding is illegal, so please don’t try this.)

But that wasn’t fast enough for her; the speed still paled in comparison to how quickly she could run.

[Accelerate]

She cast a dragon language magic on the car.
