Luna raised her eyebrows, her tone indifferent.
“Haha, what an arrogant girl. But I like that,” the bear-like man said, patting his chest, producing a dull sound reminiscent of a cowhide drum.
“It’s such a fine night, why don’t you and I find a nice spot and sit down? We can have lots of fun talking about life,” he suggested.
“Sorry, I have something else to do.”
“Don’t worry, it’ll just take a bit of your time. I can get things done quickly.”
“You... What do you want?” With her patience running thin, Luna began to emit a hint of menacing aura. “If you have something to say, then say it quickly. Don’t waste my time.”@@@@
“Oh, it seems our next conversation might not be very pleasant.” The man shrugged helplessly. “Let me introduce myself first. My code name is Goshawk, and I’m a member of Team Dragon, a small special response unit of the National Supernatural Power Countermeasures Department.”
“Team Dragon? What kind of name is that?”
Luna gave him a disgusted look and continued insulting, “That sounds really lame, the type that only a group of boys with Eighth Grade Syndrome would come up with while playing house... Not only that, it sounds really outdated too.”
“Ugh...”
Despite clearly stung by her words, Goshawk forced a polite but awkward smile as he said, “In any case, I hope you won’t underestimate the strength of our Team Dragon.”

Luna looked him up and down.
No magic power... No battle qi... Just an ordinary man who looks slightly stronger than average...

“Heh, I can’t believe you wasted so much of my time over something so trivial.” Luna waved her hand angrily and continued, “Since there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave now. Don’t bother me if you have nothing important to say.”
She turned to walk away.
“Wait, wait, wait, wait...” Goshawk hurriedly called after Luna. “Hold on a minute.”
“What do you want now?” Luna turned around, her eyes filled with a murderous intent that warned him against wasting more of her time with trivial matters.
Goshawk shuddered slightly at her gaze but pressed on anxiously, “You used your ability in broad daylight; I can’t just let you walk away like this.”
“What do you want then?”
“You have two options. The first is to join us and become a member of the glorious Team Dragon...”
“I refuse,” Luna flatly rejected his offer before he could finish.
“Huuuh? Are you sure you won’t even consider it?” Goshawk asked in a panic, taken aback by her quick refusal.
“No. The name is too lame. Joining that kind of organization would leave an indelible stain on my life. You can ask me again after changing that name.”
“......”
“What about the second option?” Luna asked.
“The second option...” Goshawk became more serious. “This society doesn’t allow the existence of unstable factors like unregulated people with special abilities. If you refuse to join us, you must accept our control to ensure that incidents like your public use of your abilities won’t happen again.”
“Control?”
“It’s nothing major. Just come with us for a physical examination and a blood test. We’ll register your abilities and perform a minor operation to implant a tracker next to your heart that we can remotely trigger to cause an explosion.”
Goshawk grinned and continued, “As long as you go through all this, you can live like an ordinary person. You’ll also receive free physical examinations tailored for you every year, along with a year-end bonus of food allowance.”
“Interesting.” Luna turned back to face Goshawk. A smile spread across her face as she continued asking, “And what if I don’t accept any of it?”
