Chapter 687: Dreamrealm Mining Area
Chapter 687: Dreamrealm Mining Area
“You don’t need to apologize to me. Get out.”Lin Ye looked out the window as the train began to slow down, finally stopping in the darkness.
The Train Attendant had already left the compartment, and some passengers disembarked, vanishing into the darkness.
Lin Ye didn’t rush to leave. A few minutes later, the train started up again, continuing its journey through the darkness.
After that, at regular intervals, the train would stop in the dark, and some passengers would leave, stepping into the black void.
More and more passengers got off, until the train finally shut down, arriving at its last stop. Only then did Lin Ye leave his compartment and step off into the darkness.
A few passengers huddled inside another compartment, their conflicted gazes fixed on Lin Ye’s receding figure as it disappeared into the darkness.
These people weren’t here to mine. After all, entering the depths of the Dreamrealm was an extremely dangerous endeavor. They wanted a safer way to acquire Dreamstones.
In the depths of the Dreamrealm, anything could happen. Even the train wasn’t a safe zone.
“Boss, shouldn’t we stop that noble brat? The ring on his finger is a spatial item—there’s bound to be good stuff inside. We could just off him here and save him from dying out there.”
“You think I don’t want to? This is the goddamn last stop! We can’t make a move on the train yet. Are you willing to follow him out? Once you go out, you’re not coming back!”
“Sigh, what a waste.”
These people didn’t notice that the Train Attendant standing behind them was watching them with calm, unblinking eyes.

Lin Ye moved slowly through the darkness, suppressing all the information his body emitted, carefully sensing his surroundings.
He could feel that something he couldn’t comprehend seemed to exist around him. He was moving through those things, yet he had no idea what they were.
‘Hmm?’
Lin Ye suddenly stopped. Amidst those things, he detected an object of a different texture. This was likely the Dreamstone he needed to mine.
‘So, how am I supposed to dig it out?’
Lin Ye tried reaching out to touch the object, but his fingers passed straight through it without making any contact.
‘So, is this body physical or a Consciousness? Can a physical body even enter a dream? Can I only mine here using mental energy?’
Lin Ye extended his mental energy out of his body. The moment it emerged, he felt immense resistance, and as the mental energy moved farther from his body, the resistance and energy consumption both increased.
If Lin Ye hadn’t recently purified his mental energy in the Rule Mining Area, he probably wouldn’t have been able to touch that object at all.
Once his mental energy touched the object, it was pulled inside, allowing him to perceive its internal structure.
The internal structure was incredibly complex. A large number of strange, misshapen things were thrust into the object from the outside, and Lin Ye’s mental energy was just one of them.
‘If I can just clear out all these things, will I be able to dig out this Dreamstone?’
Lin Ye didn’t directly touch those things with his mental energy. Instead, he tried using runes to deal with them, but the runes and spiritual energy had no effect.
After that, he tried controlling the Spiritual Parasite to approach those things, but before it even got close, it was affected by the surroundings and warped into a strange shape.
‘Looks like I can’t make direct contact, or my mental energy will be affected.’
Lin Ye tried using the power of the Falling Rule Fragment to make those things fall downward.
This time, the effect was good. Under the influence of rule power, those things slowly detached from the Dreamstone and fell downward.
But using Rule Fragments to deal with these things was very draining, and there were a lot of strange things inside the Dreamstone. Lin Ye couldn’t keep it up for long.
He had no choice but to unseal the Abyssal Eye, using the power of the Falling Rule Fragment to make those things fall toward the Abyss.
This was much easier. Lin Ye only spent a few minutes clearing out the things inside the Dreamstone before storing it in the Spatial Ring.
‘The Abyss is still reliable. Risk hedging was the right call.’
Lin Ye continued searching for new Dreamstones. If the difficulty of processing them was about the same, then he would have to think about what to do once his Spatial Ring was full.
It didn’t take long before Lin Ye found a second Dreamstone. This one was even more chaotic inside than the last, but for him, it was just a matter of wasting a few more minutes.
‘It doesn’t seem that hard. Could I actually be a mining master?’
Lin Ye kept moving in the direction away from the train. Unlike the others, he didn’t need to take the train back at all, and he had left a parasitic node on the train, so he had no fear of losing his way.
Just as Lin Ye was about to keep moving straight ahead, Little Guardian suddenly appeared beside him.
She tugged at Lin Ye’s sleeve and pointed in another direction, speaking up:
“In that direction, there seem to be a lot of these things.”
“Could that be the Nest of some Dreamrealm creature? Otherwise, why would there be so many Dreamstones?”
Lin Ye felt that was very likely.
“I don’t know, but that direction is safer than the others.”
As a mental defense system, Little Guardian could keenly perceive mental dangers.
“Oh? That’s a bit strange.”
Lin Ye decided to go check it out. Maybe it really was the Nest of some Dreamrealm creature, and that creature just happened to not be home.
The train was nearby, and a large number of miners were scattered across the area. If Lin Ye were a Dreamrealm creature, he would definitely go find those outsiders to collect some local specialties.
This might be a chance to raid the home base.
But Lin Ye’s own Nest was extremely dangerous, so maybe this place was the same.
“Can you lead me around the dangerous spots?”
Lin Ye pulled Little Guardian toward that direction.
“I can, but we currently lack enough mental nodes, so I can’t confirm if there are any hidden dangers.”
Little Guardian answered calmly.
“That’s fine. I can handle those.”
Lin Ye certainly wouldn’t miss a chance to steal from the nest. He was the Backstab Master, after all.
Little Guardian began to guide Lin Ye. They kept changing direction, bypassing areas that might pose risks.
During this process, Lin Ye discovered many Dreamstones, and every single one here was larger than the ones he had found before. They looked incredibly valuable.
Of course, Lin Ye wasn’t going to touch these obvious traps. He wouldn’t take any of these Dreamstones until he found the creature’s Nest.
After about an hour of detours, Little Guardian finally stopped. She looked around with some confusion, as if something had gone wrong.
“What’s wrong?”
There were no Dreamstones in this area, and Lin Ye didn’t sense anything unusual.
“This seems to be the entrance to somewhere, but I don’t know how to get in.”
Little Guardian felt that danger existed all around, even in the direction they had come from.
