Chapter 1729 - 1171: Living Creatures? (Part 2)
After advancing like this for a few hours, finally... Reiger saw a snow mountain.
"Is that the Casafigrel Mountains?"
Reiger stood in the raging snowstorm, opened the eyes of the transparent world, and looked toward the snow mountain.
It was a continuous mountain range, completely covered in ice and snow. No rock or vegetation could be seen—it was entirely a mountain formed by ice and snow.
Reiger took out the route map and found the topographic map of the mountain at the end of the route.
"According to the literature, in ancient magical civilization, the so-called ’Casafigrel’ means ’the end of the world’."
"That mountain range is the northernmost end of the Akasia continent, even if you cross the mountains, you will only find endless ice and snow."
"And the teleportation magic array leading to the ’sanctuary’ is located in the deepest part of that snowy mountain range."
Reiger put the route map away and swiftly entered the snow mountain range.
The snowstorm within the mountains was still strong, but due to the shelter, it was smaller compared to the outside snowstorm.
Yet for some reason, although the snowstorm was smaller, the temperature became even lower.
"Hmm?"
On his way to the teleportation magic array, Transparent World suddenly noticed something unusual.
"Swish!"
Reiger broke through the snowstorm and rushed downwards, quickly landing on the snow, where he saw an ice statue.
Reiger stared at that ice statue.
The reason was simple.
This ice statue... was a person.
Indeed, a person had been frozen here, becoming the ice statue before him.
The person seemed to be a swordsman over fifty years old. Though he couldn’t sense the person’s aura, Reiger still observed the development of the person’s muscle tissue through Transparent World, understanding the person’s physical condition.
"This person is a Sword Saint."
That’s how it was.
This reminded Reiger that once, in the border city of Mitt, the mayor, Raphy Beryll, had told him about a Sword Saint in the history of the Tistis Kingdom who had ventured here but was never able to return.
"Could this be that Sword Saint?"
Reiger had some speculation in his heart.
But at the same time, he also had some doubts.
"Judging from the strength of the muscle tissue, this person should be a very ordinary Sword Saint, probably only at Lv.7."
"Lv.7, if supplemented with some methods, might barely survive for a period in this super intense snowstorm, but this period would definitely not be too long."
"And even Yanifet couldn’t successfully reach this Casafigrel Mountain range, how could an ordinary Sword Saint, who can barely survive for a short time, appear here?"
Thinking about it, Reiger felt more and more uneasy.
"Something isn’t right..."
Not knowing what he thought of, Reiger furrowed his brows tightly, flickered forward several kilometers.
Then, he saw it...
On this path, there appeared statue after statue of human-shaped ice figures!
These human-shaped ice statues some had faces full of terror, some of despair, and judging by their muscle tissue strength, they were likely not at the Sword Saint level!
For people of this level to enter this snowstorm, it is nothing short of suicidal. There’s no way they could have successfully reached the Casafigrel Mountains!
Given this, there’s only one answer remaining.
"They were brought here!"
This answer ultimately leads to one thing.
"There are living creatures here!"
As this thought formed in Reiger’s mind, he instantly looked up to the sky.
"Whoosh——"
Almost at the same time, a whistling sound suddenly came from high above.
In the next second, a massive black shadow pierced through the snowstorm, descending rapidly from the sky, rushing towards Reiger.
"Boom!"
The massive black shadow crashed heavily on Reiger’s location, overturning the snow and destroying all the human-shaped ice statues around, sending shards of various body part ice statues flying through the air.
The surging snow wave spread around, forming a small avalanche, booming on the snow mountain.
"Swish!"
Only then did Reiger’s figure appear instantly in mid-air, looking down.
"That is..."
When Reiger clearly saw the form of the massive shadow that emerged from the snow wave, he was stunned.
"Roar!"
Along with a terrifying roar, a gigantic dragon appeared on the snow, standing on four limbs, and roared at Reiger in mid-air.
The dragon was ice blue all over, about a hundred meters long, its scales looking like pieces of ice, emitting a deadly chill.
This was not a draconic beast that resembled a dragon, but a true dragon species.
Though not as ancient and powerful as the Fire Dragon King sealed in Reinnaier’s ruins, this was still a genuine dragon, a King of Demons in the Akasia continent, with power surpassing ordinary Sword Saints, stronger than a Sword Saint.
"There is actually a dragon here? It seems... it might be an ice dragon?"
Reiger squinted his eyes.
"Roar!"
But Reiger’s overlooking domineering stance seemed to anger the ice dragon, causing it to issue an even more terrifying roar.
A deadly breath spewed from the dragon’s mouth, slicing through the sky, rushing towards Reiger.
The breath was white, seemingly composed of countless white mist, freezing even the wind and snow into glaciers, studded with sharp spikes, rushing toward Reiger.
Clearly, this breath was formed by extreme cold and fearsome chill. Its power was so great that in just a few minutes, it could create a huge ice mountain.
"Boom!"
The icy dragon breath crashed down on Reiger, causing a gigantic ice flower to bloom on him.
"Crunch crunch crunch..."
The sound of freezing echoed continuously, as the ice flower continued to expand, becoming heavier.
"Bang!"
Finally, the booming sound suddenly rang out, the ice flower exploded, scattering ice chunks everywhere.
Reiger emerged unharmed, his body flickering with red light.
"[Flowing Flames]."
The red light condensed at his fingertips, transforming into a tiny point of light, like a red bullet, launched by Reiger.
"Boom——"
The [Flowing Flames], similar in nature to a small supernova, landed straight on the snow, its explosive repulsion creating an even larger snow wave, forming a bigger avalanche, rolling over the snow mountain.
What surprised Reiger was that the giant ice dragon spread its wings at the moment [Flowing Flames] landed, swimming like a dragon in water, swiftly flying away in the snowstorm, easily dodging [Flowing Flames].
"Considering it’s over a hundred meters long, it can still be so agile?"
Reiger muttered softly, then suddenly rushed toward the ice dragon soaring freely in the snowstorm.
"Roar!"
The ice dragon, naturally unwilling to be outdone, roared back, flapping its wings, and rushing towards Reiger.
The two figures, disproportionate in size, approached each other at incredible speed; one raised a gigantic dragon claw, containing mountain-crushing power, swung it out harshly, while the other raised a fist, which was suddenly filled with flowing flame-like magic, aimed at the approaching enormous dragon claw.
"Boom!!!"
Not long after, an earth-shattering roar erupted on the snow mountain, shaking it violently.
The fierce shockwave accompanied by snow spread in one corner of the snow mountain, finally leading to a grand avalanche, descending from the mountain.
Then...along with it descended, a huge black shadow.
"Boom!"
The shadow crashed heavily at the foot of the mountain, causing the ground to tremble.
