Chapter 1647 - 983: The Future of the Mad Fire God Sect (2)
"If you come out, I’ll never clear my name." Todd shook his head and naturally brushed off Dorian’s paw. He would never have dared to do this in the past, as the other party was a dangerous individual. But now, after spending so much time together, the two of them treated each other like buddies.
A human and a member of the Demon Clan, united by the same faith and getting along so harmoniously, this scene would seem quite magical in anyone’s eyes.
"Picked up all this stuff for free; see if there’s anything you want." He placed the resources he got from Luluwo in front of Dorian, who picked through them. Most were everyday items, but there were also some Dungeon products, and judging by the variety, these were indeed things Luluwo casually pulled out.
"I’ll take this one." Dorian picked out a sphere, and Todd didn’t even get a clear look at what it was.
"Today, I talked with the construction team, and everyone’s wages increased by ten percent. This project will take a long time to build, so we can probably live a stable life for the next two or three years."
Todd said this while tidying up, and it sounded just like chatting about everyday matters.
"I also looked at their construction plans. Guess how they want to design the new capital? I feel like they’re copying Sain Dungeon. Oh right, this place can no longer be considered the capital. The rebel army has taken over Scameroon, and they say they’re going to transform Hepa Town into the new capital.....Why aren’t you talking?"
Usually, at this time, Dorian liked to chat with him casually, but this time he was silent. Todd looked up to see Dorian gazing at him with gentle eyes.
"Eek....." Todd quickly covered his backside. "Why are you looking at me like that? It’s creepy."
Dorian shook his head and said,
"I have to go."
"Go?"
Todd was stunned for a moment, then realized what this meant and tentatively asked,
"You’re, you’re going back there?"
"Yes."
By "there," he naturally meant the Demon Continent.
Hearing this news, he found it a bit hard to digest.
He once hoped Dorian would leave his side quickly and set him free, but now he had grown accustomed to Dorian’s presence. Hearing this news suddenly, he found it a bit hard to adjust.
"Why are you leaving all of a sudden?" Todd thought of the most likely reason: "Are you... mentally recovered?"
Because you’ve recovered, you no longer want to play our pretend missionary games?
"What are you talking about? I’ve never been mentally unstable, so how could I be ’recovered’?"
Dorian gave him a strange look, and Todd’s expression immediately became subtle, as if he wanted to complain but didn’t dare to.
"I just feel that our Divine Teaching has hit a bottleneck."
He said seriously,
"There are too many churches in this country, so many that our cause has yet to grow significantly."
Hasn’t our Divine Teaching’s development already been significant? Todd’s eyelid twitched. To gather so many believers under the noses of the big three families, what other church has achieved such a miracle like the Mad Fire God Sect?
But in Dorian’s eyes, this was still "inefficient."
"So we need to look outward for development, find a place where no other church has set foot, and search for the most suitable place to carry out missionary work."
"So you mean....."
Todd’s mouth twitched slightly.
"That’s right, my hometown!"
Dorian excitedly raised his arms.
"I’m going home in glory!"
Todd instantly made a "subway, old man, cellphone.jpeg" face.
"Well, should I call everyone to throw you a farewell party?" He eventually gave up discussing the probability of successfully spreading the divine teachings to the Demon Clan. "When are you leaving?"
"The sooner, the better. Honestly, if it weren’t for your frail bodies being unable to withstand the miasma, I’d want to take you all with me." Dorian said sincerely.
I really must praise the miasma shrouding the Demon Continent, Todd thought to himself.
Getting caught conducting underground church activities in Scameroon would result in imprisonment, but doing the same on the Demon Continent, would he even have a chance to come back alive?
"Alright then, I wish you all the best in your bright future. I’ll arrange for everyone to send you off and prepare your luggage. You should wait a couple of days before you leave."
The two of them quickly finalized the travel arrangements, and only then did Todd feel a real sense that he might finally leave behind all the threats to his life.
When he thought about it like that, his feelings were quite mixed.
What should he do after Dorian leaves? He should probably continue maintaining the Mad Fire God Sect, but how long he could persist, he wasn’t sure.
If the Mad Fire God doesn’t make any more calls, maybe he would eventually phase out the Mad Fire God Sect, and in the end, everyone would part on good terms?
If he could always hear the Mad Fire God’s calls, then he might.....
He didn’t continue to think further and started arranging Dorian’s farewell.
Late into the night, Todd returned to sleep alongside the exhausted believers who had been working on the construction site, completely lacking any air of a sect leader.
With Dorian gone, he should be able to have a good dream tonight, right?
With such a hope, Todd drifted into a deep sleep.
Then he saw a yellow sun floating in front of him, radiating a light and heat capable of burning the world.
"My God!"
Todd was immediately startled; he thought he would never see the Mad Fire God again, but he unexpectedly appeared before him today!
Wait a minute, could it be that the Mad Fire God sensed his lazy thoughts and came out to warn him? Just imagining that made cold sweat break out.
Fortunately, things didn’t develop as he imagined.
The so-called Mad Fire God, every time he appeared before him, never uttered a single word; everything was carried out silently like a silent film.
But, just by looking at the flames dancing on this "sun," any Mad Fire Believer could successfully understand what their God intended to convey.
Now, Todd received the divine oracle from their God with great clarity.
"You want me to... cultivate Dorian until he becomes a true God’s Gospel Spreader?"
As everyone knows, Dorian is pretty much considered an unlovable mascot in the Mad Fire Church; aside from being able to fight, he’s not good for anything, and the missionary work is left to others.
The Mad Fire God, however, now requires him to fully support Dorian’s actions.
Todd blinked and then said, "I will begin taking action immediately!"
He instantly woke from the dream, hastily got up, and shook Dorian awake, saying seriously to his drowsy friend:
"The divine oracle is here; prepare to make up for your lessons!"
"Huh?"
In the City Lord’s room in Sain Dungeon.
"Alright, one candidate settled."
Gong Qiying finished delivering a dream to Todd and started thinking about ways of reaching Onora.
He wanted to mimic Viskasa, to see if he could gather faith within the Demon Clan, to bestow the position of a God upon the Mad Fire, Abyss, Crimson Corruption, and even more Sain products, which would give him more confidence in dealing with the Evil God.
However, he had a feeling that these old tricks might not be as effective on the Hidden Dull Star anymore; their counterpart must have devised countermeasures against them.
"Take it one step at a time."
Gong Qiying shook his head and continued planning the design scheme of the Twilight Dungeon, but then the dungeon system suddenly alerted him, immediately capturing his attention.
"Finally, someone has come into contact with the Initial Firestove."
