Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems

Chapter 708: Right Now, There Are Only Two Things I Have Not Yet Figured Out!

Chapter 708: Right Now, There Are Only Two Things I Have Not Yet Figured Out!

Locke stepped out of the realm and walked straight into the emperor, Wizard Smith, and Wizard Edgar. At this moment the three had set aside their conflict and stood united, filled with a shared sense of purpose against a common enemy.

The three exchanged a glance and all felt an enormous pressure, because at this moment Locke possessed the greatest total magic pressure in this entire world.

His advantage was larger than the advantage the emperor had held at the very start of the game.

And considerably so.

At this point, if the three of them still could not join forces, they would not even be able to put up a fight.

But even combined, they were not necessarily a match for Locke.

Locke looked at the three who had just formed their alliance with a smile. "Have the three of you made up your minds to join forces? Are you certain you do not want to reconsider?"

"I may not be able to give any of you first place, but I can decide who among you takes second, who takes third, and who finishes last."

"I can decide when each of you is eliminated by me."

"Are you certain you want to align yourselves with a group of stragglers rather than ally with me, the strongest one here?"

Locke's words fell like a thunderbolt, immediately destabilizing the freshly formed alliance.

The emperor's eyes were resolute, blazing with what appeared to be fury. He stood in place with tens of thousands of inspectors at his back.

Everyone else in the alliance had an escape route. Only he did not.

And Wizard Edgar, upon hearing Locke's words, did not even consider it. He gave it no thought at all, because his goal was the championship.

What was second place worth?

In his eyes, second place was meaningless.

If he could compete for first, he would compete for first.

But Wizard Smith, upon hearing Locke's words, immediately began to waver.

Wizard Smith's resolve shook and he was almost talked around by Locke, only to suddenly remember the trump card that Witch Medea had given him. His heart immediately settled.

'Although second place is something I can accept, I have not yet reached the point where I am completely cornered. I still have two trump cards. With two trump cards in hand, I would imagine Edgar also has trump cards. Whether that native emperor has any trump cards, I do not know.'

Wizard Smith thought, 'So I can still make a gamble. If I listen to Locke, he will probably make me immediately move my Grand Magic into his realm and submit to his control.'

'I would have no hope of turning things around whatsoever. And there is another problem.'

'Witch Georgina's Fate Loom Grand Magic matters more to him than my Meteor from Beyond the Heavens.'

'His realm even has certain things in common with Edgar's Grand Magic,' Wizard Smith thought. 'If I surrender now, setting aside the loss of face in front of all the wizards across the Cloud Marsh Wetlands,'

'The key is that I may not necessarily end up with a good outcome.'

'What if I end up genuinely finishing last in the end? So I cannot surrender right now. I need to hold firm a while longer, observe the situation. If things look truly bad, I will make sure to strike hard and demonstrate my value to Locke, so that Locke is willing to accept my surrender.'

Wizard Smith thought further, "And right now Locke's only advantage is his large total magic pressure. The key question is what his Grand Magic's construction is actually like, and no one knows yet. Total magic pressure is very important, but what truly determines strength is the construction of the Grand Magic. His magic pressure is around 16,000, which is only three Grand Magic Runes."

"But he has only just become a Second Circle wizard. How many suitable Second Circle spell models can he actually have on hand? He simply cannot fully unleash the power of 16,000 magic pressure. And if his moon's construction is not very impressive, combining the three of us might just be enough to beat him."

Wizard Smith concluded inwardly, 'So right now is not the best time to surrender.'

Although Locke's words had not successfully divided them, they had already planted a shadow of doubt among the three.

Wizard Smith was already inwardly wavering and had decided to hold out for a better offer.

The emperor was already looking at Smith and Edgar with suspicious eyes. In his view, all these people had come from the Other Shore Great World, and the likelihood of them switching sides and joining forces against him was very high.

After all, from everything he had seen and heard, that Wizard Smith alone had already switched sides more times than he could count.

The emperor no longer had any idea whose side Wizard Smith was actually on.

Edgar, for his part, was completely unconcerned about Smith and the emperor.

Edgar spoke up, "No need for lengthy words. We are all here to compete. There are no cowards on this field who aim only for second place and not first."

"No one comes to the Silent Chalice competition, under the eyes of so many high-circle wizards and the entire Cloud Marsh Wetlands watching, aspiring only to a humble second place. Locke, let me ask you, what have you done with Witch Georgina?"

Wizard Smith also wanted to ask.

Ever since Locke had summoned a world-scale realm in this world, the world's map had effectively doubled in size out of nowhere.

But after Witch Georgina entered that realm, they could no longer sense her magic pressure.

The realm and the mortal world were after all two distinct worlds.

Both were left with doubts about this.

Locke smiled. "Georgina is doing very well in the realm. If both of you want to know how she is doing, you can go in and see for yourselves."

A gateway into the realm opened behind Locke. As long as the two of them stepped inside, they could leave the mortal world and enter the realm at once.

Wizard Smith gave a cold laugh. "Who does not know that place is your territory? If we go in, would we have any hope of coming out alive?"

Locke said, "This realm is a shared public space. Just like the mortal world, it belongs to everyone. However much territory you claim within it, that is how much of the realm is yours. I have claimed a large portion of it, so that realm can be called Locke's realm."

"You can go in and claim territory for yourselves as well."

Locke spread out his right hand generously in an open gesture, indicating they were free to enter. "You can go in and try."

Wizard Smith fixed Locke with a wary gaze. 'If it were me, I would already have made that special world entirely my own. It must already have traps laid throughout it. The moment my enemy steps inside, they would be taken down.'

'Locke keeps wanting us to go in. There must be something suspicious in there. Unless I am completely out of options, I absolutely will not go in.'

The emperor, for his part, looked at Locke and said, "You went through enormous effort to create such a massive realm, and then you tell me it is for public use? Do you take all three of us for three-year-old children?"

Locke said, "Why not?"

"The right things in the right hands is what allows them to fully realize their value. Even competing on the same stage, the only outcome would be losing to me."

"So why would I not make it public?"

Edgar looked at Locke and said, "Enough talk. I have no interest in your realm. Because I have one too, and I believe mine is better."

Wizard Edgar recited a spell, and in an instant the main trunk of the Temporal Shadow Fern, a thousand meters tall, appeared at his back. At the same time the Land of All Spirits descended, merging with the mortal world.

In an instant the air turned cold and eerie. Countless magical vines reached out from the Land of All Spirits and attacked toward Locke.

The Nethermail Fungus Vine, the Soul-Devouring Tendril, the Wailing Briar, the Spirit Creeper, the Humus Strangler...

But before these magical plants, whether apprentice-level or First Circle, could even draw close to Locke, the light of the Moon of Evolution shone upon them.

In an instant, silver-blue gradient magical radiance appeared on the leaf veins and buds of these magical plants.

Magical plants that received the illumination of the Moon of Evolution's radiance were essentially joining the ecology of the Moon of Evolution.

And so Locke could in turn control these magical plants.

Wizard Edgar laughed heartily, manipulating his Grand Magic, "Is that all? These magical vines are the guardians of the Land of All Spirits. Even after joining your ecology, they still have to guard the Land of All Spirits."

"Your Grand Magic is not the forcible-control type. That is not your nature. So it will not work."

Locke's mouth curved with a slight smile. "I only wanted to take a look. Because there are only two things left in this world that I have not yet figured out."

"The first is why you have still not summoned your assistants."

"The second is why this world is destined to end in apocalypse."

In the next instant, Locke's Moon of Evolution mixed the spirituality of Type 2 Tyrant Element into the moonlight and shone it upon those magical vines. The magical vines immediately underwent tyrantification, and because they lacked the cell combination from the Sunlit Birch, all of those magical vines were subjected to the toxicity of the Type 2 Tyrant Element.

In a single instant, tens of thousands of magical vines died.

The Type 2 Tyrant Element, the abyssal potion, and the Zero Potion, all three had long since been placed within the Moon of Evolution by Locke.

In essence, the Moon of Evolution's core magical energy had only one component, which was the Moon Mirror's ability of Connection.

He could link the spirituality of one thing with the spirituality of another magical plant, in other words using moonlight to bestow some kind of substance upon a particular magical plant.

And at this moment he had bestowed the Type 2 Tyrant Element upon the magical vines within Edgar's Land of All Spirits. The result was that those vines began to drop dead in a very short period of time.

After dying, these plant spirits returned to the Land of All Spirits carrying the Type 2 Tyrant Element, and the Type 2 Tyrant Element contaminated the Land of All Spirits. Large numbers of plant spirit magical plants within the Land of All Spirits began to drop dead.

Wizard Edgar's expression shifted slightly.

He had long since known how formidable Locke was. Otherwise he would not have directly allied himself with his competitors.

Within the Land of All Spirits, serving as the most powerful guardian of the Land of All Spirits and the most powerful presence within the ecological community, the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril, was a Second Circle magical plant.

Its body was enormous.

It lay quietly within Wizard Edgar's Land of All Spirits, a plant spirit Edgar had summoned from the Emerald Dream and planted there during the rare moments of leisure he had found after entering this world.

The Land of All Spirits caused plant spirits and magical plants to gradually merge and become indistinguishable.

The Eight Buddha Claw Tendril resembled an ancient great serpent, spanning the territory of the Land of All Spirits. It had eight enormous main vines, each one like a great serpent the Land of All Spirits had kept hidden.

Wizard Smith had not expected that Wizard Edgar had been concealing this card all along.

The Eight Buddha Claw Tendril was a comparatively powerful Second Circle magical plant, and was said to appear only at the boundary between life and death.

Its primary core ability was to absorb life force and convert the absorbed life force into seven forms of application, such as transforming it into high-intensity magic pressure layered on the surface of its vines to form a vajra vine body.

Or converting the life force into healing power for itself, or channeling the absorbed life force to someone else, or using it to give to plant spirits to revive a certain plant, among other applications.

In short, the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril was an extraordinarily powerful Second Circle magical plant.

This magical plant reached out its eight main branches toward Locke. The passive moonlight radiating from the Moon of Evolution shone upon the magical plant and was completely ignored.

The passive moonlight of the Moon of Evolution was insufficient to directly control a Second Circle magical plant and draw it into his ecological community.

The Type 2 Tyrant Element delivered passively by the Moon of Evolution was insufficient to subject the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril to the tyrant toxin.

Locke said, "The greatest difference between us is the difference in total magic pressure."

At this moment, the full moon at Locke's back began to rotate. Then the Moon Rabbit on the full moon transformed into a great bow, and a moonlight cannon shot out toward the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril.

In an instant, silver-blue gradient magical radiance covered the entire body of the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril. The Eight Buddha Claw Tendril was drawn by Locke into his ecological community.

The Moon's Dark Side, an inherent characteristic of the moon plane, when combined with magical plants, could produce moon plants, and these moon plants in turn had allowed him to combine the Peach Bow Thorn Arrow with the Moon of Evolution's spell model.

In this way the Moon of Evolution effectively had two modes.

The moon's bright face was the passive moonlight, gentle and soft, which did not forcibly control magical plants and did not forcibly evolve them.

The moon's dark face was the active use of the Grand Magic, with moonlight like a cannon. Using the Peach Bow Thorn Arrow, it concentrated vast amounts of moonlight and fired it. Once it struck, even a Second Circle magical plant would be affected and controlled by the Grand Magic.

Of course, for an ordinary Second Circle wizard, using the Grand Magic once essentially drained all of their total magic pressure to nothing.

The same was true for Locke, because his Grand Magic was still at the initial-forging stage and not the second-forging stage, the star ring. He could not freely control the amount released.

So he could not achieve a precise calibrated amount. Every release would be in excess.

But at this moment, the Moon of Evolution illuminated the entire realm, and within a single breath it restored all the magic pressure that had been drained by using the Grand Magic.

And the Eight Buddha Claw Tendril, as a result of the moon cannon just now, contained far too much Type 2 Tyrant Element. It began to suffer from the tyrant toxin and was left convulsing and struggling in place, causing the entire Land of All Spirits to begin collapsing around it.

At the same time, Wizard Smith suddenly moved against him at this moment, directly playing one of his two reserve trump cards. From between the semi-plane clusters of the Meteor from Beyond the Heavens, a massive meteorite fell toward him. Clinging to the meteorite was a beetle-like creature the size of a small mountain.

It was a Second Circle star realm creature, a star realm insect, one of the Star Realm Behemoths that the Meteor from Beyond the Heavens had summoned from the star realm.

Because in this Silent Chalice competition, the primary architectural framework of the Grand Magic Meteor from Beyond the Heavens that Wizard Smith had constructed was the Heavenly Beetle Constellation Framework, it was possible for him to summon many insectoid Star Realm Behemoths from the star realm.

The Starlight Projection he had previously infused with a Grand Magic Rune could enhance this delivery effect.

Furthermore, the Meteor from Beyond the Heavens was not primarily about dropping meteorites from the sky. It was about summoning Star Realm Behemoths from the star realm and using meteorites to deliver them from the star realm into a world.

Locke saw this scene and showed no surprise. "Smith, you have finally used it. This is exactly the moment I have been waiting for."

Wizard Smith was taken aback.

Had Locke calculated long ago that his Grand Magic possessed this ability?

How had he figured that out?

If he had figured that out, had he already prepared a response?

Had he once again fallen into a trap at this very moment?

In an instant, Wizard Smith's mind was in complete chaos. His eyes glazed over and his courage failed him completely.
