Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1666 - 992: City of Sin (Part 2)

Chapter 1666 - 992: City of Sin (Part 2)

The warriors started their rare, silent exploration, following the strategy guide to search for any details that might reveal a new path.An hour passed, and they finally found something different from the past.

"Did that place used to have so many prison guards?"

One warrior voiced his doubts as he looked at a certain area.

What appeared before them was a rare, open space deep in the Yilushier Underground Prison, with two extraordinarily large supporting pillars in the middle, and around them were open iron cages, which weren’t the key point.

The most noteworthy aspect was.....

There were more than twenty prison guards lined up around the two stone pillars, moving in circles like a parade.

No matter how you walked, you would always feel several pairs of glowing eyes watching you, creating a most despairing situation.

"What do we do?"

The warriors looked at each other in disbelief.

This was indeed a scene never seen before, visibly across from them, just beyond these prison guards, they could reach a stone door with a tunnel leading to an unknown place.

It was time for a draw, choosing a warrior to sacrifice to charge out and clash with the prison guards!

"Wait a minute, um, actually, I know the Invisibility Technique." Someone suddenly said, drawing immediate attention from the other warriors, their eyes seemed to say, "How come someone with such a thick eyebrow and big eyes knows magic that betrays the original thrill of battle?"

"Actually, I used to be an apprentice of Younka, but got expelled for lacking talent... luckily, Latan saved my soul."

Despite some reluctance, the warriors eventually admitted it honestly, using the Invisibility Technique to sneak quietly close to the prison guards, and simultaneously unleashed a Summoning Star.

"Boom!"

Accompanied by the tremor of the entire Yilushier Underground Prison, these twenty-odd prison guards were completely annihilated.

Attracted by the sound, heavily mutated half-dragon people rushed out from surrounding cells to attack everyone, but with no special mechanism, they were successfully bypassed by the warriors.

"I don’t want to come to this hellish place a second time." Someone shook their head, spat on the ground.

"What’s that, did it actually drop a weapon?" Someone picked up the light point from the ground, which transformed in their hand into a tailbone-textured short sword.

[Tailbone Short Sword]

[A twisted short sword collected cautiously by the prisoners of Yilushier Underground Prison, who are failed remnants of the dragon transformation experiment, crafted from a dried tailbone]

[Demon King Oslorais deemed them as failures and abandoned them, representing a certain malicious delight, and the remnants were imprisoned in a dark cell to suffer torment]

[They truly believed the cut tailbone was proof of being a dragon, thus the remnants carved it out themselves, the ensuing agony and wailing echoed endlessly in the underground prison]

"What is the dragon transformation experiment, Demon King Oslorais... never heard of this name."

People shook their heads, only taking this as further evidence of the fragmented storytelling of Sain Dungeon, and pocketed it.

"Ahead is the place that hasn’t been explored before."

"Let’s move on, don’t waste any more time."

Temude walked at the forefront, first entering the stone door, stepping onto a long spiral staircase built along the rock wall, continuously descending.

This place remained filled with the unique dampness and darkness of the underground prison. However, as they went deeper, the dampness started to fade, until at last, it even felt a bit dry.

A smoky, scorching smell lingered in the air, and the dry sensation instinctively made them think they had returned to Chaos Ruins of Izalis.

Moreover, besides the heat of flames, the air seemed to harbor something indescribable and mysterious, making their emotions feel particularly disturbed and uncomfortable.

Leading in front, Temude suddenly raised his hand to signal everyone to stop, as he noticed a change in the light ahead.

This indicated that this spiraling descent had finally reached its end.

"Be careful, I’ll go check it out first."

Temude was quite cautious, yet willing to take the lead; he took a few steps forward, carefully peeked out half of his body at the final exit.

A brand new scene instantly unfolded before his eyes.

It was a..... nearly collapsed ruined capital city!

Who could have imagined that beneath this dark, sunless deep underground, there really existed a lost ultra-ancient city?

It stood over the abyss, its architectural style completely different from the contemporary era, covered in dust for long, almost entirely collapsed under the power of time, with only a few tall towers remaining, just as dilapidated, left with only a framework.

Clearly, the area wasn’t small, even slightly larger than the average underground city, but due to most structures already collapsed, it seemed empty and visually smaller.

[City of Sin]

Magic Words fittingly appeared before them.

This seemingly intriguing name immediately imbued the place with a mysterious hue, but the warriors who came here knew it was named thus purely because it concealed the dangerous "Sin Fire."

The branding iron in Yilushier prison guards’ hands bore the power of Sin Fire; whoever got attacked by it would feel the searing invasion of Sin Fire, their thoughts becoming disorganized, sometimes needing several days to recover from severe effects.

And City of Sin, in conclusion, was the origin of Sin Fire, undoubtedly escalating the danger level here drastically.

Where is Onion Knight now?

Temude surveyed City of Sin from above but did not find Onion Knight’s figure, nor did he see any signs of life.

His gaze traced the remaining edifices, all the way to the farthest end of City of Sin from them.

There, rested a massive palace.

Though many structures around had fallen, the main body of the palace remained, its height far surpassing any human-built palace.

Just by the size, one could tell it was built for giants!

Giant King Yum must be inside!

Just as Temude was about to signal the warriors behind him to take action, he saw flames suddenly ignite near the palace.

Right at the palace entrance, a pure white altar-like object was situated, it was then he noticed a group of slender figures in white standing beside it, their color blending with the surroundings, almost causing them to be overlooked.

The flames he referred to rose from the altar, eventually converging into a massive, meteor-like fireball.

This fire was different in hue, its usual "leaping" was more of a "squirming" in its essence.

An ominous feeling!

Temude was about to look away when suddenly, the fireball trembled, his body jolting in response.

Perhaps hard to fathom, but he felt at that moment, as if he "locked eyes" with the fireball.

Like an invisible mental assault slid in, creeping through his eye sockets into his brain, wreaking havoc!

"Ah!"

Just as his scream echoed, the warriors behind him pulled him back forcefully.

"Quick, quick, heal him!"

"What happened outside?"

"Dunno, didn’t feel any attack!"

Someone said while peeking outside, the anguished Temude tried to stop them but could only manage groans.

The warriors cautiously peered out, weapons in hand ready to strike at any moment, but upon seeing outside, they swiftly spun around and ran.

Because several meteor fireballs, made of Sin Fire, were leisurely soaring towards them!
